FAQs
Thank you for your interest in our web-based file upload utility. This system helps us collect your files and integrate them into our production process.
Q: I’m a new user. How do I get a password to submit a file?
A: If you are a new user enter your email address in the new user section on the main login page. The system will generate a new password and send it to the e-mail address that you entered.
Q: I’ve forgotten my password. What should I do now?
A: Enter your email address in the new user section of the main login page. Your password will be sent to you via e-mail.
Q: I’m able to log into the system, but unable to upload my file. Any suggestions?
A: The biggest causes of trouble during an upload are:
- The use of illegal characters in file names. Only letters, numbers, underscores, dashes and dots in are usable your file names.
- File names that are too long. Please keep your file name to less than 25 characters.
Q: The system will only allow me to select a single file at a time.
A: True. We recommend that you zip all files that belong together into a single submission. This helps us make sure that we keep them properly grouped together.
Q: How will I know that a file is being uploaded?
A: In Internet Explorer, look for the progress bar in the lower right hand corner of your browser. In Safari, the progress bar is the colored background (usually blue) behind the URL.
Q: How long will it take to upload a file?
A: Upload times vary based on many factors. However, as a rule of thumb assume that you will need about a one minute for every MB of file size on a 256 kbps DSL line. So, for example, a 15 MB file will take about 15 minutes to upload. Remember, this is only a guide line and times can vary considerably.
Q: How will I know when a file has finished uploading?
A: You will be taken to a page that will read “your_file.abc” has been successfully uploaded.
Q: Can’t I just submit via e-mail?
A: We strongly encourage everyone to use the web-based utility to upload files. This utility ensures that we have all of the information that we need to introduce your materials into the production process. It also significantly decreases the occurrence of corrupted files. However, if you need to submit your materials via e-mail, submit them to ads@greenspring.com. Please do not “cc” anyone.
